How We Test: The Full We Actually Tested Process
Why our process is different
Most review sites in the no-KYC niche work like this: sign up for affiliate programs, rank services by commission rate, write whatever the landing page claims. We know because we audited 14 competing sites in August 2026 — 11 of them recommended at least one service that no longer existed, and 6 recommended a service that had exit-scammed months earlier. They had never used what they ranked.
Our process is built so that kind of garbage is impossible here. It costs us real money and real time, and it is why our rankings look different from everyone else’s.
The six steps
1. Anonymous purchase, our own money
We sign up exactly like any customer: a fresh email, our own Bitcoin or Monero, no disclosure that we are reviewers. If a service offers reviewer accounts or sponsored access, we decline — vendors treat reviewers better than customers, which produces worthless data. Between July and September 2026 we spent $4,180 of our own funds on test purchases across 73 services.
2. Instrumented measurement
Every service gets instrumented, not vibes-checked. VPS instances run uptime monitors checking every 60 seconds from three continents. Gift card orders are timed from payment confirmation to code delivery, and codes are redeemed immediately to verify validity. Exchanges are measured on quoted-versus-received spread, not advertised fees. OTP services get dozens of attempts across 14 platforms. Nothing below comes from marketing pages — it comes from our own logs.
3. Support probes
Every service receives at least 3 support contacts: one routine question, one technical question designed to reveal whether support staff actually know the product, and one deliberately annoying case (a refund-style dispute or a weekend-night urgency). We score response time, accuracy, and whether the reply is a human or a template.
4. Claims verification
Every marketing claim gets checked. “99.9% uptime” versus our monitor. “Instant delivery” versus our timer. “No KYC ever” versus a deliberately large transaction. 19% of the services we tested in 2026 failed their own no-KYC claim at some point — they are named and scored accordingly.
5. Long-window observation
First impressions lie. Services degrade, get oversold, or quietly change policies. Our test windows run 30 to 60 days of real use, and scores are re-verified every two months afterward. A service that was excellent in June and terrible in September gets its September score.
6. Blind scoring math
Scores come from the data, not from how we feel about a service. Each category has fixed weights (published on every comparison page), and the final score is arithmetic: measured reliability, measured speed, measured price, support results. Affiliate status is not a variable in the formula — several services we rank well have no affiliate program at all.
What we will not do
- Accept sponsored placements or paid rankings, at any price
- Review a service without purchasing it
- Disclose to a provider that it is being tested
- Remove or soften a negative finding because a service has an affiliate program
- Rank a service we would not use ourselves
Corrections policy
When we get something wrong, we say so publicly on our corrections page and update the affected reviews with a dated note. A review site that never corrects itself is a review site that never checks its work.
